hair inspo.

I do love a bit of hair inspiration. I used to change my hair colour/style literally every month when I was younger (see evidence here and here!). I'm not sure whether this personal fad has diminished due to age or maybe because my hair couldn't cope with it anymore. Actually, thinking about it - it would be the latter. Given half the chance I would go pink again.
I went to my friends salon at the weekend, had a trim to a just past shoulder length, which saw the last of my colour go. I now officially have no dyed colour in my hair, my hair is a natural light brown/my own hair colour for the first time since I was 14. Crazyness!

I'm already itching to go back to being blonde.

home office essentials.

As with most things in life, there are pros and cons to working from home. Some people can't imagine anything worse, yet others quite like the peace n' quiet and find it helps with productivity. I myself, have days where I enjoy it and find I get a lot done. But then there are other days where I want to get as far away from my home desk as humanly possible!

One major upside to working from home is the comfort element. I like that you can sit in your favorite "loungewear" and no one will judge. Having said that, I feel it is also really important to not literally roll of bed and go straight to your home desk - ready for action in your PJs. This doesn't put you in a good mindset! Nor does the Bed Office set-up. (Let's face it, we've all been there: alarm goes off, one reaches for the macbook and/or iPad and "makes it in to work in two minutes flat".)

Now Autumn is upon us, out come the chunky knits and big socks - a personal working from home fave, another being that you don't get the dreaded "tea round fear"; making tea for 8+ people more than once or twice a day gets a little tedious. I also love having my home desk littered in notebooks, so this Apocalyptic Musings Moleskine Notebook is just fabulous (great Xmas gift or what!).

Working from home also means that only I am to blame when my favourite pen goes missing.

the weekend edit.

uk style and design blog chloe vaux etsy handsome craft

This weekend I stumbled across the Topshop app, (not really sure how this hadn't happened before now??) and got a little bit excited. Sometimes I find their actual website a bit hard work - especially when viewing on a mobile, but this app makes perusing clothes so easy! I certainly had a fun ten minutes that's for sure. I really liked that you can save your favourite pieces to your "notebook" - a really nice little feature. So here are some of my favourite finds - all currently available at Topshop.

I may have accidentally purchased those flatforms (that print though!), lazer cut shorts and high wasted jeans. DAMN my clumsy fingers!

etsy store friday! - scout & catalogue

This weeks Etsy Store Friday features stunning work by Bre of Scout & Catalogue.

I've been a fan of Bre's blog for a few years now - there are a few blogs out there that I genuinely look forward to catching up on, especially if I haven't done so for a while. I can be quite fickle, in that, I get into certain blogs for a little bit and then move on, but this isn't so with S&C.
Her images, life snippets and "in process" photos are just really inspiring, each collection she creates is even better than its predecessor. Her current line is to die for, I can't get enough of her leather marbling - the Sierra iPhone 5 sleeve is high on my wish list, I must have it. Her clutch bags are beautiful and would go with anything and everything. I love her attention to detail, everything is so considered.

"Scout & Catalogue is heavily influenced by the bohemian beach culture of Mexico.
We strive to make quality hand dyed pieces that remind you of afternoons at sectet beaches, sun kissed skin, and all day siestas"

For all things Scout & Catalogue, head over to the blog, shop or twitter.
